Our Vision

At Featherstone Primary Academy, part of the Greenheart Learning Partnership, our vision is to place pupils and families first in everything we do. We are tenacious in our approach to education, ensuring a stable and supportive environment where every child can become a confident, successful, lifelong learner.

We uphold integrity as a cornerstone of our school, guiding pupils to act with honesty and trustworthiness, preparing them to be active and informed members of the community. We encourage our pupils to be visionary, to express and innovate themselves, contibuting their unique perspectives to the world around them.

Respect is at the heart of our school culture, where every individual is valued, promoting a sense of belonging and understanding within our diverse community. We emphasise continuous improvement, driving both students and staff to strive for excellence and growth in all areas.

Through self-responsibility, we empower students to take charge of their learning and personal development, building the resilience and independence necessary for success in all aspects of life. Staff are reliable and they are relentlessly consistent in modelling this vision in their own practise and interactions

Our Featherstone Values

Across the school we focus on 6 core values that we expect all of our school community to demonstrate and uphold, these are:

Self-responsibility: Children will take ownership of their actions and learning by solving problems independently before asking for help to build confidence and resilience. Staff will encourage students to take initiative and be accountable for their actions, while modelling self -responsibility in their own professional practice.

Tenacity: Children will approach their learning and interactions with consistently high effort, good behaviour and be relentless in their drive to improve. Staff will maintain relentless consistency in expectations of themselves and children within their care. They will persistently drive improvement in their learning and practice.

Reliability: Children will consistently try their best to complete tasks, be prepared for learning, put in excellent effort, contribute in class and adhere to school expectations. Staff will consistently fulfil their responsibilities and create a dependable environment for students, colleagues, and the wider school community.

Integrity: Children will always be honest with their words, actions and build trust with others by always doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. Staff will model integrity by upholding the ethical standards and fostering a trustworthy environment where students feel safe and supported.

Visionary: Children will explore new ideas and express creativity with confidence, contributing their unique perspective to the school community. Staff will encourage and support creative thinking in their students, while also embracing innovative approaches and being open to all ideas before landing on the right one.

Excellence: Children will consistently strive to improve everyday, regardless of their starting points. Staff will foster a mindset of improvement focusing on marginal gains in all areas.

The Greenheart Curriculum Promise is a commitment by the partnership in collaboration with its academies to ensure that every child has the opportunities and experiences during their time in the Partnership that will help them to succeed in the next stages of there education journey and into adult hood.

No child will be excluded from these experiences and opportunities and the partnership is proud to support its academies and communities through the provision of this promise across its schools.
